I took 2 marks off because we were picked up from our hotel at 07:30 & I didn’t realise we then needed to do a circuitous route for over an hour picking up odd couples from hotels down in Sorrento. Because of traffic over an hour later we passed the road near our hotel so had got nowhere despite being up at 6:30am. On the plus side we were dropped off first. Overall the drive to Pompeii was very tiring. 2 hours! However once there our guide was EXCELLENT. 2 hours walking was enough for us.

The guide was very good. We enjoyed the experience. We would have enjoyed a longer stay in Pompeii . We would have liked another couple of hours to explore on our own after the guided tour. I don't know how you could have organised that but it's something for you to think about. Our guides were very careful to keep us all safe which was appreciated. Our guide sometimes was difficult to see when she was leading us from one place to another. Perhaps a more brightly coloured brolly would help.

We liked everything about this trip. The guide was really good and informative. She told us things about Pompeii on the way there and then gave us headphones for the tour itself which worked very well and was very clear. She also spoke very clear English which was appreciated. We were very glad we only picked the half-day trip or anymore would have been too much

We were so excited for this trip, unfortunately it didn’t live up to our expectations and on reflection we should have chosen a different experience. The tour was a whirlwind stop which didn’t give enough time to properly see the site and its treasures. Our guide was a very nice lady with lots of knowledge, but we just didn’t get enough time, and it was so busy it felt like we were rushing from one place to another trying not to bump into other groups and keep up with our guide. Disappointing.

The tour had too many people in the group. A smaller group would have been much easier. It led to fragmentation and the tour guide having to round everyone up on various occasions. We lost one participant. Other wise it was enjoyable and the two hours is long enough as a tour. Some time to explore on your own would have been beneficial.

We enjoyed seeing the archeological site and the guide we had was excellent explaining everything we were looking at. She was friendly, informative and extremely knowledgeable about the whole site. Excellent value for money.

Our guide was Johnny "Be good". He wasn't good - he was outstanding. The traffic in and out of Sorrento was pretty bad but TUI can't do anything about that! Some free time in Pompeii would have been welcome.

Our guide, Desiree, was excellent. She kept us all safe while negotiating the traffic and had a wealth of interesting information about the Romans. She was able to answer any questions and had a lovely personality. Everything was explained in an articulate manner. She was a very caring person.

We were 30mins late getting picked up at hotel and instead of a 5 hour round trip it was nearer 7 by the time we got dropped off at out hotel as we went up into the mountains from Sorrento on a 2hour plus return trip, guide was good at pompei, but overall not great and won't be doing any more trips.

I would have liked to have been informed that there was an hour and a half spent picking up other passengers before setting off to Pompeii. We had 2.5 hours on a coach with no opportunity to stop before reaching Pompeii mainly due to pickups. If I had known I would have done this trip differently. It felt a waste of our time to spend so long just travelling.

I enjoyed the hotel transfer they were very comfortable. The guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. I would have liked to have a little free time at the end of the tour still in Pompeii to look at the gift shop and museum.

A great introduction to Pompeii. Our guide Vincent have us an insight to the Sorrento area (history etc) while en route to Pompeii. He kept us entertained with his wonderful sense of humour. Prior to our arrival we were given ear pieces so we were able to hear him clearly during the tour. Vincent was a mine of information on the history of Pompeii and the Vesuvius eruption. The tour is very fast paced and could be tiring for some. There is so much more to see but this is a great taster!

Our tour guide Barna and I hope I got this right was a fantastic and knowledgeable guide who led throughout with her excellent description and insight off the past while manoeuvring around other crowds easily avoiding any queuing to ensure maxamising our time on the trip with the sights fantastic host would highly recommend this trip especially if you get this tour guide ??

This was such an amazing experience. The guide was so knowledgeable and gave detailed information about all the different areas of Pompeii, the streets, homes of the upper and lower class, shops. I would highly recommend. The tour lasted approximately two hours and this was plenty of time to get around in the high temperatures. Comfortable footwear needed and transport provided. All in all a good excursion.

Enjoyed the tour but wasn’t what was listed in the TUI experiences, it was listed as a half day tour that lasted 4-8 hours the tour was only 2 hours and was very rushed, very little time to look at anything and felt like we skipped over a lot of places that could have been seen. However the tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history behind Pompeii and surrounding areas.

It was advertised as Pompei half day which was a 2 hour guide and about 4 hours on a bus that hardly had air conditioning A falsely sold excursion I'd think twice before booking a trip again through Tui and as for the rep once she has your booking/money hardly speaks to you again

The schedule and duration was good. Our guide Dana was excellent. Our hotel (Art Hotel Gran Paradiso) was up a narrow road so we had to walk 10 minutes down the hill to our collection location. The trip would've been much better if we could have been picked up from our hotel.

The guide was excellent, had a very interesting amount of information and kept us informed about everything along the way, spoke excellent English too, driver was very good too. Although time was a little tight an extra ten minutes in the shop at the end would have been good but not a major problem. All in all an excellent experience and would recommend this trip to anyone

What a brilliant tour that was well worth the money. Our guide Fabi was outstanding , she was knowledgeable, friendly and spoke incredible English. Her knowledge of pompei and the local area was excellent The way that Fabi narrated the tour with brilliant. It was full of interesting historical facts and some humour that all added to the experience. Without doubt one of the best tours we have been on absolutely brilliant.

Length of tour was just about right. Our guide was knowledgeable and personable. The only thing which spoilt the trip was the bad weather and I don’t think TUI can do much about that. Overall a good experience and value for money. Oh and the guide didn’t ask for tips (as others have done on other trips - not TUI). We were happy in this instance to give her a tip as she did a good job!

We enjoyed the tour of Pompeii but the reason I didn't mark it higher is simply because of the crowds and it was too hot. That isn't the fault of TUI though but next time we will go out of season when it's cooler and not so crowded.

Two hours on site was more than enough. The guide was ok but with the huge crowds tended to wander off at a pace which was too fast for some of the group. Fortunately nobody got lost. Information given was fine through the audio sets.

The guide had pretty good English but he kept not finishing his sentences and kept walking too far ahead so we lost connection. Either that or the headsets weren't the best. It would of been nice to walk through the museum at the end but he never mentioned it and just walked past.

The half day tour was very good as a 'taster' for the site however, with only two hours for the guide to show you around, you are very limited as to what you can actually see. It is also very busy and the roads/steps can also slow up those who have mobility issues. When we return, and we will return one day, we shall either opt for a full day tour or perhaps explore the ruins ourselves.

The experience was wonderful and all I had hoped it would be. I am glad I did the half day tour as it was quite tiring. There was so much to see and our guide Carmalleta(?) was excellent. She was very knowledgeable and helpful, willing to answer everyone's questions. I have always wanted to visit Pompeii since I was a child and I was not disappointed. It was the highlight of my holiday.

The queuing for tickets was ridiculous the guide had to go and queue in two different lines to get then came back to the group who could then join the queue for admission which unfortunately was almost back to the road Could these tickets not be bought in advance especially as you know how many people are on each tour Apart from that the whole experience was fantastic

I had loved everything about the trip. I was well looked after by the guide. The knowledge by the guide was extremely excellent. I am deaf but still was able to hear via the head piece ( even when it was hanging off) never rushed. I had a walker and had no problems.

Dana, our guide, has a brilliant personality. She kept the bus informed in respect of matters that related to the journey to Pompeii. The care taken in respect of her party was excellent as I have never been counted as many times as the group walked around.( no one was lost). The information imparted on the tour was excellent and very informative. This was due to Dana having very good knowledge of her subject. Overall a cracking tour.

2 hours from hotel pick up to Pompeii. 45 mins to return. Guide was repetitive and sometimes difficult to understand. We sat on the front 2 seats and, apart from getting out to greet other passengers, she talked non stop to driver! Pompeii was fantastic, but I think it would have been better guiding ourselves. We will return as the site is superb. I turned my head set off as I found the repetition a little irritating. Quality, not quantity would have been better.

Laura, our guide was very good. Just the right balance of interesting information without overloading us. Pompeii is very busy with lots of tour groups walking through. The coach travel was easy and comfortable. Half a day was just right for us. Very enjoyable experience.

We struggled to keep up with the guide , and sometimes lost reception in the headset . Obviously the streets are a bit difficult to negotiate especially for some of the older members of the group and she was often way ahead . Not enough time at the end to get a drink or go to the toilet.

I purchased the tour based on that it was advertised as a 2 hr archaeologist guide. We did not receive this. The tour guide we had was excellent but I was expecting as advertised an archaeologist So based on this I feel this was not as advertised so not good value for money as I could of bought a tour from get your guide and this would of had the archaeologist

We really enjoyed the guided tour of Pompeii- we saw a lot and learned a lot too. Our guide was, unfortunately, very stressed on arrival at our hotel and didn't even greet us! Not a good start. She did apologise later and was very knowledgeable about Pompeii.

Both Guides were very knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything. On the coach journey their commentary told us about the area, the history and made the whole trip a great experience. They were also very aware of the age and fitness of some of the party and paced the walking around Pompeii accordingly.

Pompeii is a fascinating place which should be on everyone's bucket list. The guide (Mina) was both authoritative and entertaining. I have been here before a couple of times (many years ago) but couldn't miss the opportunity to revisit. The site has been improved somewhat in the 20 odd years since I was last here. The downside is the numbers attending. There was a crush of people trying to get into all the highlight buildings, but still a must see. I would have liked another hour to see more.

The trip was organised very well. I knew obviously the site was very old but I didn't expect to encounter so many very steep kerbs and stepping stones to try and clamber across. I think anyone who really isn't very fit should be discouraged from trying the tour as they won't last the full 2 hours especially if it's a hot sunny day

Enjoyed the visit to Pompei. Tour guide kept asserting himself by repeating statement several times which was annoying. Information about the site was good but would have appreciated more detailed insight. Restricted pace through site as some guests mobility was restricted which slowed the group, otherwise voukd have experienced more of the site.

Francesca was incredible! So knowledgeable and engaging, she shared some facts en route to Pompei so that we could make the most of our time at the site. Our family also attended the site without a guide and we had learnt so much more in our two hour visit than they had spending the whole day there. The transport was efficient and comfortable, although a little longer than anticipated. Great value for money and would absolutely recommend!

We had a super guide, a lovely young lady. Very knowledgeable and explained what we were looking at with such enthusiasm and also put a comical spin on some of the things she was explaining. She made sure we stayed together as a group and that we stood our ground as it’s quite easy to be squeezed out the back in areas where it’s very busy. Overall a good trip but made it a great trip by our guide, can’t recommend her enough…!!!

The tour was conductive at a good pace and considered the varying ages of attendees. The tour guide was so knowledgeable. She was fantastic. I learnt so much. We could have done with an extra 10 minutes to grab some lunch.

A great introduction to Pompeii, and our guide Pasquale was excellent. Obviously, half a day in a 100 acre site is only going to hit the highlights, but we got a really informative overview of the town, the eruption and its people. The scale of the place was one of the main takeaways for us.

Bus pickup was on time. Guide was welcoming and very friendly. Bus was well air conditioned and comfortable. Transfer was fairly quick. Guide gave us interesting information on the way to Pompeii and clear instructions for us once we got there. The tour was packed full of facts and was presented in a light hearted manner which kept us interested throughout. There was nothing I didn't enjoy.

This was a lovely trip. I have wanted to visit Pompei since I was a teenager. I was really disappointed to be told that we only had 15 minutes to take a look around the forum at the end of the trip. No where near enough time and didn’t get to see much of it at all!

The most relevant part of this experience, without a doubt, was the guide, Laura. Her experience, knowledge and kindness were the highest points of this tour. Given the hot temperatures, a midday visit is indicated. At another time of the year, we would not hesitate to contact Tui and Laura, of course, for a guided tour of Pompeii.

This trip was ideal for a quick tour of Pompeii. The guide we had was very knowledgeable and knew how to get around the site fast. Although it was very hot there were a few spots of shade and there was a chance to get a drink/toilet. The Pompeii site archeological site was amazing ??

Transport and driver was great. The tour guide Martina was excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable. There was a medical emergency with an elderly lady on the tour and she ensured medical attention was sought and stayed with the family until help arrived and lady was transported to hospital. The tour was great, Martina had excellent knowledge and we really enjoyed our tour.

Martinaze the tour guide was very knowledgeable and welcomed questions, added light hearted humour to the morning. She kept everyone informed even during an emergency with someone taken ill due to heat in the group. She ensured everyone was present and gave enough time for photos at popular landmarks. Overall a good trip, full of information and well worth a visit.

Didn’t think Tui could do anymore , the only down side of the trip was the almost unbearable heat but of course you can’t control that . Our guide did everything he could let us stand in shade where he could and kept us moving.

Our guide was great, he kept us all fully informed about some important aspects of Pompeii. It was very hot but our lovely Tui rep had advised us to wear trainers, put plenty of sun cream on and take plenty of water thankfully! Much better to have a morning guided tour as queues to enter were huge when we left.

The half day experience was long enough to learn of the history whilst not being too long to keep the kids entertained. The short breaks were useful and keeping them to the shorter timescale kept everything on track. Glad we set off early to avoid the midday heat.

Definitely glad we did the tour if we had gone on our own we would of missed so much the pompeii ruins was extremely busy and our guide managed to get us to all the key points without issue if I were to be picky I'd say the cost is abit pricey but what isn't in italy ??

It was a great trip, however in extreme heat there is very little shade and families with children were struggling. The pick ups took nearly as long as the attraction so smaller groups would be better in my opinion

A good visit but Pompei was very crowded. Evidently due to the numbers of cruise ship passengers visiting. As a result the giide couldn't always get us to the places she wanted to go to e.g. the queue for the baths was very long. Disappointi g that we did not go to the antiquarium.

I had a fantastic experience on the Pompeii Half-day Tour. Our tour guide was exceptional, providing all the essential information we needed to fully appreciate the historical significance of Pompeii. She was very considerate, doing her best to keep us out of the sun whenever possible, which made the tour much more comfortable. The instructions for the meet-up were clear and precise, giving us ample time to xplore on our own and pick up some souvenirs. Overall, it was a well-organized.

The tour was fantastic! The travel was good and the bus had Aircon. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, you could tell she is passionate about her job, she filled the tour with lots of information, jokes and kindly answered our questions at the end. The tour itself was brilliant, we ended up seeing most of the main parts and the tour guide made sure that if she is talking, we are all standing in the shade.

Tour very well organised and our guide was fabulous, pleased I went on the half day tour as it was boiling hot. We were back in our hotel by 13.30. The place is amazing and I would recommend this tour as you have an ear piece and the guide informs you of the history of all the buildings and the areas we visited.

Pompeii is amazing and the sheer scale of it takes your breath away, it’s huge! Our tour guide Pasquale was very good; friendly, funny and informative. Ideally we would have liked a bit more time to explore, as we covered less than a quarter of the site, but in fairness two hours walking in 30 degree heat was more than a little challenging! If you have an interest in history, Pompeii is a must.

The coach arrived almost 45 mins late leaving us standing by the roadside in 35° heat. A message to inform of the delay would have been helpful. Once on the coach everything went smoothly, the guide was excellent. You need days to see everything as the site is so vast.

Very knowledgeable guide - friendly, enthusiastic and guided us round the city at a good pace. He dealt with a fellow tourists illness superbly, showed kindness, concern and organised help very quickly and professionally. If I had one criticism it would be the sheer number of people who arrived at the site during our visit - I know that you have no control over this but it made keeping up with and following our guide quite challenging towards the end.
