Long drive inland to have lunch. Also, would have preferred lunch to be slightly shorter and less heavy a meal. Have a little more free time to spend in the villages. They were amazing. Fantastic multilingual guide.

Tin was a very knowledgeable guide who took time to answer questions & provide recommendations while we had free time. Davor was a great driver, we felt very safe all the time. It was a nice mix seeing the different places & understanding the history. The tavern were very accommodating at lunch to dietary requirements.

Guide (think his name was Mauro) was very good and informative and our driver, Eddie, was also very good. We enjoyed seeing Bale, Rovinj and Porec and enjoyed our lunch too

Everything was good. Guide very good and excellent English. Food excellent. One issue the walk on cobbled stones to the church was very hard going up and down. Asked guide and he said keep going if you can but he did say how far and steep the walk was. Maybe more details about the trip could be advertised or reps in resort should inform guests. We did enjoy the trip.

Guide (Mauro) was very knowledgeable and managed to keep the tour stops to the allotted times, driver (Eddie) gave a very smooth journey. For the meal the Gluten free desert option was just an apple with a knife, maybe a fruit salad would have been a nicer option.

The trip was very good, the tour guide Tin, was very informative, the only downside, is that we didn't know what we were eating before we went, so both my husband and i dont like pasta. So recommend telling people before they go what the meal is. Plus a lot of people said it was luke warm.

Why take almost 3 hours out of the day to have lunch? It was such a waste of time. We didn't have enough time in Rovinj or Porec. We could have had so much more if we had stopped for the lunch on the way to Porec or even had it in Rovinj or Porec. The food wasn't even that great, very heavy. I would have expected enough time to go into Basilica in Porec, such a waste to not have enough time to do so. It was very disappointing and marred the whole trip.

Tin the guide was so full of knowledge and enthusiasm and had a great personality. He has years of experience and knows what info to share (and what not). Sceptical of the lunch stop but no need. Food basic but well cooked and tasty. Plenty to go round. Was a long day but well worth it.

Bale was nice enough but would have preferred more time in Rovinj and Porec. Porec especially rushed. Lunch was very nice Would recommend the trip and Rovinj and Porec are really beautiful places. First stop Bale is nice enough but not really anything to see and felt time would have been better spnet elsewhere Well worth doing the trip however and would certainly recommend

You took us inland 50 minutes drive to a restaurant in the middle of nowhere for nearly 2 hours for an average meal and then a 50 minute drive to Porech wasting valuable time that we could have had in Rojinj and Porech where we had an hour of free time in each, it wasn't long enough at all

The tour was interesting although we did struggle to hear the guide at times. It was very expensive for what it was especially when the lunch was so poor, it was awful, the meat was really fatty along with the dishes being tasteless and bland. I didn’t see the point of taking us to the Basilica, we had 20 minutes and it was an extra €30 each which was not mentioned on booking.

We were not informed how much walking was involved & there were no times for a coffee break for the first 4 hours of the tour, and walking in 30degree heat up hills etc., not enjoyable at all I felt that we had wasted our money on the trip, the tour guide was very knowledgeable but the walking was far to much if we had been informed prior we could have saved ourselves over £160 by not doing this trip.

Enjoyed information given by guide who was very knowledgeable. Good choice of towns to visit. Negative- size of group to walk around towns with guide. This made it a bit slow for us. Lunch stop - interesting to visit Agro family run restaurant but it was but far to travel. I would have preferred to find own lunch and have more time in one of towns. It was also late for lunch when we got there. Food was ok, not great but interesting to sample typical Croatian fare

Loved how knowledgeable the tour guide was. Loved the places we visited. Would have preferred less time on lunch and more time in Rovinj as there was alot to see and we had less then an hour of free time there, also more choice on lunch as there was no choice and my son didnt like any of the food and I only like 2 items. Would have been better if we could have had a few hours more in the towns and just got our own lunch.

The restaurant meal wasn't great. I'm a vegetarian and the food I received was poor tbh. I thoroughly enjoyed the day in general. I was particularly impressed by the tour guide who was fantastic and very knowledgeable.

Marwo and the driver Eddie were amazing. Marwo's knowledge about the past is outstanding. He told us so many interesting fact. Also, we liked his sense of humour. Only one suggestion- the lunch in the farm: would be better if we had individual portions instead of plate to share, this doesn't work well when you eat with strangers. Also, there were no glasses for water, just for wine.

The tour guide was friendly and jolly man, his full of interesting information on the areas we visited. Highly recommend the day trip out, as you have a tour but also get free time to have a look around. Lunch at the family home was very nice too.

This is an exceptional trip. The guide is extremely knowledgeable and the hospitality at the agricultural restaurant is superb. There wasn’t anything about this trip I didn’t enjoy. However, I would advise people to take seriously the recommendation to wear shoes designed for a lot of walking and on uneven surfaces. Bale and Rovinj especially have uneven paving and some steep climbs. Definitely not the trip for flip flops and heels.

There was a lot of walking and it would have been good to have known that before booking. Guide was very knowledgeable. The restaurant food was amazing. It did seem that you went from the west coast for the meal and then a long drive back to the coast.

The guide provided interesting information about the places visited and Croatian history, which was very much appreciated. Bale, Rovinj and Porec were all locations worth visiting and very much enjoyed. I think the lunch provided was very time consuming and a location along the route would have made much more sense from a logistical point of view. Although the food was tasty, the main course of pasta and gnocchi was a strange offering. The wine was disappointing, especially the red.

The tour guide was lovely and very knowledgeable. Loved Bale and Rovinj and wished we could spend much more time at these two places. You need sensible shoes-a couple of steep walks and a bit slippery. It was nice to try the traditional food but it was a trek to get to. Lovely setup and nice to chat to people on the coach. Went to Porec by this time I was getting tired. A nice place but sat down for a drink after our tour. It’s a long day , maybe have lunch at Rovinj or Miss out Porec.

The guides was informative and engaging. The places visited were picturesque and interesting. The guided tours were excellent and there was enough free time to explore on our own. We enjoyed the meal at the agroturizam restaurant. We received a warm welcome. I am on a vegan diet and the food was excellent for me and also for my husband who had meat. All in all a great day out.

The trip was interesting we enjoyed the places we visited although there were too many for one day - we could easily have spent more time in Rovinj and the visit to appreciate we could have done without . The meal although the surroundings were nice was basic and we spent too much time there a 3 course meal wasn’t necessary

Thoroughly enjoyed he tour. The only comment that I can make on a negative side is that the tour included quite a bit of walking which involved some very steep and slippery cobbled streets. Anyone with mobility issues would have trouble with this trip, especially in temperatures of +30 degrees.

The guide was superb,his knowledge was second to none, the towns we visited were beautiful, ghetto lunch was delicious, the drive was so comfortable and safe. The only fault I could find was, it was stated in the itinerary that the admission fees were included, but, we found out, while we were in Porec, that the Basilica was not included, this was an extra 10 euros, no other place that we visited charged an admission fee, false advertising I believe.

First time in Croatia. Found the guide very informative. The lunch at the farm was very good. The places we visited were very pretty. The only problem was the weather which was very humid ( out of everyone's control). This made the day seem long.

A good tour overall and very informative guide, and nice lunch supplied by the family where we stopped. I did feel that a couple of our group struggled up the steep entrance to the church at the top of the hill, in the heat. But not sure if they were advised about the steepness of some of the walk? this is important for people with poor mobility.

Our guide Karla was excellent - she had a great way about her, was really thoughtful to the needs of individual guests and the whole group, and adpated quickly to unexpected events (blocked roads). She made the day a delight. The schedule was great too - a decent time in Rovinj, which was most important, and the agriturism farm lunch was a special experience. It was a well thought through day.

Fabulous tour from start to finish. The guide was so informative and knowledgeable. None of the coach journeys were too long between stops. A fair bit of walking involved and a hill climb to a church but our group was of all ages and abilities we all made it! Lunch was traditional Istrian food and there was lots to eat. I would recommend this tour and I have fallen in love with Croatia even more now. Well done TUI.

It was a very interesting tour & our guide gave us a lot of information about Croatia & the places we were visiting. I think people need to be aware that many of the places visited are cobblestones streets. This information is important for disabled people as to whether or not the trip is suitable for them. However, it was a really long day & maybe this could be explained to people as they're booking this trip. Also tell people it is a full 3 course lunch.

We wanted to see Rovinj and Porec. However the trip seemed to be heavily into the history and sometimes this felt a bit too much. The biggest problem though was that we drove 45 minutes to go for lunch and then another 45 minutes back plus 1.5 hours for lunch so three hours devoted to lunch but only 2hours 15 in Rovinj! We could easily have had lunch under our own steam in one of the beautiful restaurants in Rovinj and experienced more time in that town

The guide was very informative and had a good sense of humour. Lunch was nice although would have preferred lower cost and no lunch stop to have more time in Rovinj. The guide spends a lot of time with the group in each new place before letting us have free time. There was no option for people to leave the group from stepping off the bus which would have been nice as not all information was relevant and left us with only 1 hour to ourself in Rovinj which wasn’t enough.

Needed more time in main attractions of Rovinj, insufficient time to see the town properly. A long time spent travelling to the lunch, which I don't mind supporting locals, however it would have been good if the family introduced themselves, told some of the story and parts of the farm were shown. Tour is partially accessible but many of the streets are cobbled and unsuitable for wheelchairs/walkers (we did know this in advance). Our driver Andrea and tour guide Bayon? were excellent.

Excellent excursion, the guide, Mauro I think his name was, was very knowledgeable, especially about the history of the area. Full of facts and figures, a veritable encyclopaedia. Our driver, Andrea was first class, we felt very safe in her hands. A brilliant driver. All in all it was a wonderful day out, the lunch was very nice as well.

A fabulous day out. The guide was excellent. So much clear, continuous, historical information from year dot to date. Everyone was taken with Rovinj being so much to see and amazing history along with blue diamond sparkling water. The lunch with locals was really nice, lovely local food, clean and welcoming . Was a long day but made very very interesting by our great guide.

Amazing tour. Bale was beautiful as was Rovinj. Very knowledgeable guide. I read previous reviews re the journey out for an Istrian meal at a farm being a waste of time. I disagree, It was lovely to sit and share a traditional Istrian meal with others on the tour. Bean soup with bread, very tasty. Followed by beef and pasta dish, Grappa and wine to drink. We didn't feel the last tour stop to Porec was worth it. Wonderful day. We saw things we wouldn't have if we hadn't been on the tour

Too much time was wasted by having the meal stop so far away from Rovinj and we could not ascertain how much of the overall cost was allocated on the food. The 4 in our group and many other people on the coach said the preference would have been to have been able to purchase food in Rovinj then move on to Porec and have more time there. The Driver and the Guide were both proficient and pleasant people

Our guide Sandrine was exceptionally well informed and interesting on the history and culture of the places we visited. We didn't have much time to explore the towns on our own. Although the meal at the agrotourism restaurant was lovely, a shorter drive would have given us more time on the ground. I would have liked to see more of Rovinj.

Highly recommended. Good value for money. Informative guided tour (option to not to participate in the guided tour for each destination). The lady guide finding shaded routes on a red hot 36*C day 22/08/24. She gave the right balance of tour and free time. Lunch was great. Brandy liquers, wines and water. Soup, freshly baked bread. Braised beef & pasta. Cakes & fruit. (Veggy options by request). Rovinj was especially a picturesque place to visit. Each destination a great tour choice.

The weather was very hot and there was quite a lot of walking, more stops to rest and take photos would have been appreciated during each walk rather than an extended period of free time at the end. The coach which seemed quite new was on time and fully air conditioned. The guide was pleasant and knowledgeable. The towns we visited were lovely. Negatives- the guide talked too much, he never didn't stop talking the whole time on the coach. He also kept us standing around in full sunlight. The trip to lunch was too far and the driver went too fast which made the journey to lunch unpleasant. The food was very poor. Be better to skip this part of the trip and let people choose their own lunch .

Enjoyed the whole experience. The guide was so knowledgeable and pleasant. The trip was so informative regarding the history of the area and the meal was delicious. I think, perhaps, it would be wise to inform people before booking that the way to the church in Rovinj is quite a gradient and those with breathing or joint problems, which my friends and I have, might find it hard going or impossible, as we did.

Great guide. She was very kind and knowledgeable. She knew her work really well and made the trip very enjoyable. The walking tours and free time was perfectly times. Food was OK - not brilliant. Very little variety and very heavy. How about a little salad with it. All quite stodgy. Dessert was boring, heavy to eat and very limited. Again, a little variety for the palate would have been good. I don't think it's worth €75- wat too steep. Especiall with a full coach load of passengers.

It was a very full whole-day tour, including walkabouts in two impressive maritime cities and two inland stops. Our guide, Mauro, was excellent. He covered Croatian history and architecture in a clear voice both in the coach and outdoors. He was a good shepherd of our group through the very crowded streets. The rustic lunch was rather more basic than we were expecting.

The lady guide(can’t remember name) was amazing full off interesting facts and she added her own personal twists which made it even better. The rural lunch was delicious as were the hosts. During the tour there was a good balance between listening to the guide and having time to do our own stuff.- for a drink or two…??. Can I just say the Croatian people we experienced are lovely,friendly and welcoming- Lovely country- I will go aga It was a long day, but I guess it had to be to fit it all in.

A couple of the excursions don't specify that the pick up point is NOT at the Hotel...An evening Dolphin trip from Pula does not finish till 21:00 so no buses are available so a 40 euro taxi fare is your only option.

There was little of historical interest in any of the locations although the guide did his best with limited resources. The meal offered was very poor and the wine even worse. As a whole I feel the Istrian Riviera is a misnomer for it as it is such a poor area and we will never go again to Northern Croatia.

The coach was clean and air conditioned and on time. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly with a good sense of humour. The food wasn’t great but acceptable but it did give you a good opportunity to have a chat with the other guests and to meet the local people. The coach journeys between each destination were a chance to enjoy the beautiful views of the countryside. At each stop we were given a guided tour and then had an opportunity for some free time to relax and have a beer or coffee.

The variety of places was excellent, nice to try a traditional lunch which was lovely but slightly too long a stop . Elvis was an excellent guide with many funny stories. Rovinj was a bit hilly, no problem for us but for people less mobile so some information on this on the itinery would have been good

Apart from the torrential rain we had throughout the day, the trip was absolutely wonderful. The guide was really knowledgeable and I don’t know how he keeps so many facts in his head. Overall a very pleasant day.

I think Tui should really start reading their reviews because pretty much everyone says the same thing. The lunch is awful and it’s a massive detour to get there. It’s completely unnecessary to trek out to a farm for a naff lunch, when it would have been much better to have more time on Rovinj or Porec. You are apparently getting local Istrian food but actually it’s just watery soup, bland pasta and some donuts. Tui, you need to change this. Listen to your guests.

We really enjoyed the whole day, despite it being quite a long one. We loved seeing the three different areas and having guided walks through each of them to learn new things. The only bad thing about the trip was that the interior on the coach we went on was in a pretty bad way - screens that were smashed and broken, windows with loads of mould and water trapped within them and seats that were very worn and dirty. My mother also wasn't a fan of the meat option with the meal due to gristle/fat.

Karla was great and really informative however the trip overall in my own opinion was too slow which I understand some people like a more leisurely pace however from leaving Rovinj to arriving in Porec was 3 half hours for lunch in between due to the lengthy drive out and back. Would have preferred to have more free time rather than the walking tour parts as with it being such a large group it was difficult to often hear the guide anyway. However the places were beautiful!!

Guide was excellent, explained the history very well. However too much time on the coach. The lunch was not for me as I don't like pasta. The time spent to and from the lunch was too long. An expensive lesson as no alternative food offered, unless you were vegetarian which I am not. Would have preferred longer visits to the sites and shorter lunch.

The places we stopped at were lovely. The guide Karla was very informative. Lunch was lovely but it was a very long journey to the farmhouse for lunch. It would’ve been nice to have stopped longer at the other places and had lunch elsewhere. Although the lunch was delicious. Coach was comfortable and air conditioned. All in all a lovely day.

Overall it was excellent but felt that the journey for the meal took too long there and back. It meant the meal was eaten quite late and made the day extremely long, not arriving back to hotel until 19:00. We would have preferred staying longer in the towns and eating there.

The excursion started at 9:30am and we didn’t get back until 7:00pm. Excursion should have started an hour earlier to get back at a reasonable time. I couldn’t see the point of driving 45 minutes for lunch from Rovinj then 45 minutes back to Porrc. There must have been somewhere closer for lunch

The guide was very knowledgeable and explains everything in great detail. Bale was beautiful, Rovinj was ravishing and Porec was perfect. Lovely places to explore. The only thing that let the day down was driving almost an hour to lunch and then almost an hour back to the itinerary. Would have rather had more time to explore Porec.

Great guide and the tours of each town were informative. The timing for each stop was just right with enough free time to enjoy a relaxing wander. Great idea to support the local agricultural community by heading out to the countryside for lunch. Loads of really interesting information as we were driving. A longer day than we expected but it meant we didn’t rush and the coach was comfortable and a good way to see more of the Istrian Peninsula

This was sold as 4-8,hrs and 10.5 hours later in 35° heat we were dropped off at our bus stop to then still have to walk back to hotel. The trip was dragged out far too long with very little to see. In our opinion you did not need to drive a further 40 mins for lunch to then be served a local WINTER dish of stew in 35° heat!!! We then had another 40 min drive to Porec with very little history worth worrying about. The trip would of been much better if more time was allowed in ,Rovinjy .

Lunch was provided but it was pretty basic and there was no soft drink offering for people who don’t drink alcohol. Further to that, lunch wasn’t until 3pm after a 9am pick up with no prior warning, we were close to fainting by the time we got to eat. Going so far out of the way for an average lunch meant we only got 45 mins in Porec which was really disappointing. On the plus side the guide was incredible and we saw some beautiful places.

We enjoyed touring the villages and listening to the informative guide. The lunch was nice but driving 30 minutes inland from the second town to eat, then 30 minutes back to the coast to visit the final town was a waste of time, especially as we were left with less than an hour to tour Porec. The second town, Rovinj, had plenty of restaurants and it would have been more time efficient to eat there before heading to Porec.

Very good trip to see a few places and the lunch was great. I can’t remember the name of the guide but they were good fun and made the day enjoyable. It’s a full day but we were still back to the hotel by 7pm so not too bad.

While I enjoyed seeing different parts of Istria, there wasn't a lot of substance to the stories and historical narratives being shared. Several of us commented that it felt like an expensive bus ride between different major tourist sites. For example, despite being sold as an Ancient Istria trip, we learnt very little about ancient Istria. Visiting over-commercialised sites concerning the middle ages. There was also a lot of talk about contemporary history. This was very interesting and I would have enjoyed a trip focusing on WW2, or communist Yugoslavia. Yet this wasn't the focus of the trip so it wasn't done much justice.

The trip promised a visit to Pula Arena and a mock gladiator fight which did not happen. This was one of the reasons for booking the trip. The meal at Grzini was terrible. Not enough free time at Rovinj. Poor value for money. Would not book this again and would not recommend.
