First time I’ve been on an e bike. The guides are fab (inc the dogs) they make you feel comfortable and safe, they are knowledgeable and help you all the time. I was very nervous as I didn’t realise how fast they can go!

Another great day out and about on the electric bikes with our fabulous guide Fortz! I’ve now done this trip 3 times. The routes sometimes change slightly and gives you an insight into life in Santa Maria and CV. You get to see the salt lakes and Kite Beach along the way and also time for a welcome little beer stop towards the end of the ride ??. Great value for money and great fun! The rough terrain did prove a bit difficult for some of the riders so I would suggest this is not for beginners.

We didn’t get picked up on the date we booked, waited at reception for an hour but no one turned up. We spoke with our TUI rep who was amazing, booked us on another date and was very apologetic that we had been forgotten about. The staff at the excursion were amazing, our guide Lucky was superb and so knowledgable about the island and places we visited. I would suggest that you make people aware that the bikes are heavy and that the trip goes across rough terrain at parts.

Enjoyed the ovetall exprience but wasn't prepared for how heavy the bikes were. This should be highlighted in the sales pitch for beginners or stated that this is for people with experience or knowledge of electric bikes. It also shows photos of off road but perhaps show photos of on road too. It was unsettling at times. Guides were very knowledgeable, helpful & supportive. Good excursion.

What a fantastic adventure - a 20k e-bike tour of southern Sal. Lucky and Jeremias where our tour guides. The bikes are great and you don’t need to put much effort in to get them to go!!!! If you are smaller than 5’2” - you may struggle with the seat height. The tour dog joined us, he ran the first half and then sat in a basket for the 2nd half - he was the “security guard”.

Fort and his colleagues worked hard to keep the group moving and ensure safety whilst also allowing time for questions. Fort is very knowledgeable and passionate about Sal and cape verde and made the experience very interesting. We saw a good selection of sites and had time at the end to get a drink

The electric bike tour was a great experience and the tour guide Fortz was brilliant taking the time to explain about the island and he took some great photos. You get enough time to take in the views and surroundings. We had to cancel the first time due to illness but without a doctor's certificate to state your I'll you cannot get a refund if you don't cancel within the 24 hour period but we were allowed to reschedule. The transfer bus back to the hotel never turned up so had to get a taxi..

This is the best £26 I spent - ever! Dry much worth doing! Much better than I thought it was going to be. The bikes are quite heavy and take a little getting used to, but after a few minutes you’re off and away! Stopped at loads of different sites and lots of great photos! Guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Definitely do this again on the next visit! Worth more than a 10 rating.

Excellent value for money excursion. The guide, Mo, extremely helpful and knowledgable. The route around Santa Maria was very interesting with 7 places of interest to see (plus a bar). The bikes had excellent pedal assist or just all thumb control if you find it easier (like me). Would absolutely recommend

A great tour with Mo, who was very knowledgeable and made the experience a good one. We had never used Ebikes before, but everything was well explained on what to do. You got to see lots of different interesting sights around the island, and Mo had many interesting facts. Elvis was also very friendly who helped with the trip. We would recommend it to others wanting an exciting fun day out !

Family of 4, had a great time, Coach arrived on time, Mo our guide was an absolute gem and created some lasting memories for all the family ( including a sneaky selfie on our phone) . He also takes great pictures. We were out about 4 hours ( take water) , thoroughly enjoyed every minute . The coach was waiting for us on our return. Great fun and absolutely no stress. Thanks again Mo. 100% recommendation from the whole family.

I throughly enjoyed the experience. The training and how to ride the bike was simple and easy to understand. I really liked how they constantly checked to see if we were ok and waited if anyone was stuck and needed help. Mo and Fortunada were fantastic guides, funny and made us feel very comfortable. 10/10 experience.

We were a little nervous to start with but Mo and Fort ensured everyone understood how to operate the electric bikes - big on safety and fun. This tour takes on sites you would not normally see, like main streets, everyday houses, a market, shell beach, salt rivers, kite beach and lots of other beautiful sites. You will feel like you have had a glimpse into everyday life on Sal. Plus we stop at a bar for a rest before heading back. If you can ride a bike, do not miss out on this tour! Thank y

Excellent experience and more fun than expected when booking. Our guide (Mo) was very friendly and knowledgeable and made sure we were all safe. The bikes were a bit scary to begin with but we soon got used to them and Mo advised which speed setting we needed to be in for each different part of the trip. Lots of different sights/stops/photo opportunities and great fun to be riding across the coastline and off-road. It is, however, quite bumpy at times so be prepared for a sore **********!

The “training” was not clear enough, I couldn’t control my bike and crashed and fell off at the very start, cuts and bruises only luckily. Told husband to carry on, he had a fab time and the staff were good with resorting out my injuries and getting TUI to pick me up. A better induction to the bikes would have helped and starting off in a less crowded space

Very helpful guide (Mo) - who spent a lot of time explaining everything to those who needed it. Helmets left ready with the bikes. Great route, lots of really interesting information by the guide and stop near the end to grab a drink. Well organised and I’d recommend it if you like cycling.

The bikes were great fun and the guides were excellent. Given the fact that my wife was nervous, one of the guides stayed close to her providing advice and encouragement to ensure that she too enjoyed the experience. The lead guide provided an excellent overview of life on the islands as well as leading us to interesting areas in the south of Sal. The four hours flew by and the bikes took most of the strain.

Poor

Great tour guides but this is not an experience for anyone as old as us with creaking bones and joints! The bikes were hard to handle as they are so heavy. There were too many people on the tour and people were not keeping a steady pace, causing a stop / start session which was not comfortable. It's also dangerous so my partner ended up falling off the bike and injuring his knee and hand, drawing blood. The guide carries a first aid kit so wounds were kept clean.

Guides Mo and Fortune were brilliant ????? So informative and helpful. Full instructions given before we got on the bikes and they were really patient explaining how to use them . A really good way of seeing some of the island with plenty of opportunities to stop and take photos aswell as explanations and information about each area we visited. A great way to spend half a day during your vacation.

Fortz was great, amazing knowledge and delivery. The bikes were great fun, easy to use and the trip itinerary was great. Some people would find the bikes a little unsafe, some bits didnt work, were a bit in need to TLC, but overall if you are confident on a bike, you'd love this. I strongly recommend sports gear, one couple turned up looking like they were abut to go round an art gallery and hence were annoyed they got covered in sand and dust. It is very off road terrain but that's the fun!

The tour was great. Informative and enjoyable. However, the group was too large (around 20), which delayed the start and made it difficult to get in close to hear the guide. Although it turned out that cycle helmets were available they were never offered until one of the group asked, but by then we were all ready to get started.

Fortz, our guide was so helpful and really interesting to listen to. The bikes are bigger than normal bikes, but very little effort is required for the entire journey. We were collected from our hotel early morning, and returned 4.5 hours later. I would highly recommend to a fellow traveller and would definitely book again on our next visit to Sal.

Fortz was a great guide who shared his knowledge about the island. Very friendly, happy and smiley too! The bikes were brilliant and baskets were provided to put a rucksack in. Not a lot of effort needed as the bikes did it for you! We would definitely recommend this to a friend. We stopped off for a drink so it’s good to take some money with you. I had not been on any bike for many year. It took me a while to get used to the bike, we were told how to use the bike and we did not set off until everyone was comfortable. We had an instructor at the front and one at the back. I was not overly confident so was at the back.. Mo was very good and helped me immensely. Overall the bike ride was brilliant and a great way to see the island. I would definitely recommend it ??

The trip was great and had a number of stops with the guides happy to take photos for anyone that wanted them. The only thing I would comment on is that the TUI app said 2-4 hours and the cycle itself was 4 hours, so the trip was longer than expected with the transfer

What a fantastic experience we had with our local guide Mo, he was very knowledgeable about the history and culture of Cape Verde and made us feel very welcome. The ebikes were good quality and great fun to ride and the route we took showed us some amazing parts of the island. Mo told us great stories every time we stopped and looked after everyone on the tour. 100% would do this again if we come back here. Well worth booking to get you out of the resort and see the island properly up close

Overall the pace and miles and stops were spot on for a non rider who wants to experience some of the island. Pity the bikes are not sized like UK rather than just dropping the seat.

The guide, Forte was very helpful and knowledgeable and made the whole trip enjoyable. Nice way to get out and about from hotel surroundings and see some of Sal. Only downside (being vertically challenged??) was the bike was just a little too big for me but glad stuck with it as would not have wanted to miss this trip. Fort was an excellent guide. Informative, friendly and observant, especially when I fell off 3 times after hitting rocks! Many bruises ! Terrain is very rough, sandy, rocky and dusty. Bikes took a bit of getting used too as they were heavy. Altogether an enjoyable experience.

This was great fun. The guides were amusing, helpful and informative You get to see the southern part of the island. The coastline and the salt ponds are things that you can't really access by road so this is an ideal way to see them. I went back to the same company a couple of days later and hired a bike to revisit some of the locations for a longer stay. Highly recommended but wear sensible clothes as some of the ground is very dust.

Great tour with a good trip around the Southern part of the island . Large group size meant that some of the other guests were not being well supervised , and didn’t seem to know the basic rules of the road . Not giving way at roundabouts , riding on the wrong side of the road , not stopping at pedestrian crossings . This will mean that an accident is likely to happen , even on Cape Verde’s quiet roads .

The experience was fantastic and the 2 guides, Mo and Vicki, were super. Nothing was too much trouble and their local knowledge was outstanding. The only real downside was that even on the lowest setting for the saddle my wife could barely touch the floor which did prove troublesome a couple of times when we stopped. Overall well worth going for a great alternative way to look around the local area.

The guide chose very noisy places to give us his information, and most of the group couldn’t hear what he was saying. He also spent far too long talking about the other 9 islands and their history. Being fit was less important than indicated and my wife, who had been unwell, decided not to participate. As the bikes do not require you to pedal, she missed out when she could have coped. The route chosen was very interesting, but riders need to be competent cycling in soft sand.

My wife and I enjoyed the tour as we are experienced bikers who own electric bikes. A lady on the tour fell off 5 times. There is really not much to see on the tour and the best part was dashing around the salt flats. The guides were nice but hard to understand. The bikes were ok and the guides were apt at running repairs.

Mo and the other guide were great, really knowledgeable and friendly, the perfect ride hosts. Tour was well paced and fun once you had got used to the bikes which seemed to cope with the terrain remarkably well. H&S bit of a concern as no helmet offered and I had stupidly worn trousers which got caught in the chain so I ended up falling off and ripping my trousers and leg a little. Luckily the sand was a soft landing. Also take some water as drink stop not until end and it was quite hot.

The instruction was good and setting the bikes up for ourselves was easy. The tour itself is about 20km long, and takes about 3 to 4 hours. There are a number of stops, with very informative chats from the guides. It also gives your buttocks a chance to regain their normal feel! Riding over the soft sand can be challenging, but the guides are always there to help. Overall it is a highly recommended tour. Enjoy.

The whole electric bike tour was brilliant with very knowledgeable guides who considered the safety of the guests paramount with frequent stops for re-hydration. I think there should be a minimum height restriction as my wife found the bikes too big and heavy to operate safely so decided not to go on the ride.

The electric bike tour was great! Mo and Fort were very friendly. They were able to accommodate all the different nationalities who were on the tour with their multilingual skills. It was fun using the electric bikes to see a little more of the Santa Maria area including the shell cemetery, the turtle conservation area and the market hall. The stop at the beach bar towards the end of the tour was very welcome. It might be a good idea to stop for a drink sooner on the tour as it was very hot!

Very good tour. Staff helpful and friendly. Dog was great, kept up with us the whole way and knew short cuts. Got to see salt lake area and shell bay along with other interesting areas. Would highly recommend and if you do this tour no need to pay more for quad bikes or off readers as they follow similar route. Bikes were really easy to handle and it definitely wasn't a hard ride.

I’m 60 and not ridden since a child, was very nervous but bikes easy to use, came off once in the heavy sand with a soft landing, but rest of cycle doable, end of tour does mean being on busy at times main road. Couldn't fault the whole morning, absolutely brilliant trip, the bikes were very easy to use, there was even a 70 year old lady who managed it no problems. Our guides on the day, Tony (could easily be a Banjo brother (Diversity)) and Ishmael were excellent, very funny, kept us entertained and informed. Highly recommended for all ages and fitness levels, if you've ever ridden a bike you'll be able to do it.

Great couple of guides along with the ever present company dog, bikes are easy to use as you quickly get the hang of them. We were out for a full 4 hours on the bikes so take a drink and some cash. If I’m honest it would have been exciting if we could have gone quicker but appreciate we were in a group of around 14 with mixed ability so you do have to go at the pace of the slowest with safety in mind but there was a section in the salt flats where the group split into fast and slow groups.

Great fun tour with knowledgeable guide. It’s a nice way to see different parts of the island. It’s not tiering so you can do it even if you don’t think you are fit.

Great

Never been on an e-bike before, so that was quite entertaining, especially when using the boost button to surge through soft sand in the dunes. Only fell off once when I didn't press it soon enough and the front wheel dug into the sand. A soft landing though, and all part of the learning. Don't think these would be allowed back home health & safety wise, as we weren't provided with helmets. Not so bad round the dunes, but the last part of the trip was down the main dual carriageway of the island

Excellent

This is such a brilliant way to visit the areas in the south of Sal without travelling in a coach or 4x4 whilst having fun cycling using the electric bikes. Our guide, Jack and the bike team were friendly and helpful. Jack was knowledgeable and answered all our questions about Sal and Cape Verde. We visited parts of Santa Maria town that we wouldn’t have known to visit to without him including the local’s fruit and veg indoor market as well as several beaches and the stunning salt pans. This was definitely the best trip we did on Sal during our stay - we enjoyed every minute of it.

Great 4 hrs out in the bikes seeing the southern part of Sal. Jack our guide was great and very informative. Covered the 15-20kms no problem on the electric bikes with minimal effort. Great way to explore the island.

Fantastic guide who showed us the local town and took us on a great journey across the southern part of the island. The electric bikes were such great fun and I would recommed this trip to everyone. Stunning scenery, golden beaches, salt flats (salinas) and the kite beaches x 2 as well as s stop over for a drink in the local beach cafe. We also loved Mechanic, the bike shops dog, who looked after us, most of the way.

Great

When we turned up for the e-bike tour we were surprised how others were dressed... including women in sarongs and sandals??! The trip should advise to wear sports clothing and trainers as a minimum. It should be advised to bring water as well. Although the bikes are sturdy, the terrain is pretty tricky in places and shook us up a lot. I found the handles on the bikes ended up hurting my hands (as I was gripping so tightly). My lower back hurt a lot after the trip (no suspension on the saddle). It was enjoyable although the tour guide didn't engage with us much and we were stuck waiting for others quite a lot. I do recommend the trip to see some fab sights of Sal including the forgotten beach but it could be improved.

Great

The bikes are big and heavy so need to be aware of this. The route we took had some tough terrain making it difficult to control the bike. In fact it can be quite dangerous so care needs to be taken.

1. Jack was a great guide, friendly and knowledgeable. 2. Swimming costumes for the beach would be an additional idea. 3. The Veg Market started later than our visit so maybe include advise to take water and sandwiches for the 4hrs.

Excellent tour guide, friendly staff including photographer and bonus local dog following us around. We learned so much about the island and the people. The bikes were great too. I'm glad we brought some water with us as it was hot and a long ride.. 4.5 hours! Maybe you should suggest people bring water with them, it could be useful.

Didn’t start well at the pick up was supposed to be 8.05am, so no time for breakfast, but they picked us up 30 mins late which meant we could have had breakfast - so an annoying start. But the experience itself was great
